Wellington Street Heritage Redevelopment

During the renovations of the Parliament Buildings of Canada, the Wellington Building will be housing many of the parliamentary offices and officials displaced by the construction. As a result, ART Engineering Inc. has been retained by multiple contractors to provide structural consulting services and construction reviews for the redevelopment of 180 and 144 Wellington Street in Ottawa, On.

The buildings contain large quantities of heritage structural steel components for analysis and retrofit. The services that we have provided have included:

Connection analyses and reinforcement design.
Steel stud framing designs (walls, ceilings and bulkheads).
Temporary structure designs (hoarding, stair towers, ramps and platforms).
Crane footing designs.
Shoring designs.
Escalator hoisting design.
Overhead protection systems.
